Job summary

Jobot in Winsted, CT is hiring a CNC Machinist for a 3pm–11pm shift to produce aerospace components on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills. You will read blueprints and GD&T, set tooling and offsets, and perform in-process and final inspections to ensure tight tolerances.

Candidates need 3+ years of CNC machining experience in precision or aerospace environments, plus experience with multi-axis centers and common controls (Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Makino, Mitsubishi).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical machining certificate a plus.
• 3+ years CNC machining experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
• Experience reading blueprints and GD&T.
• Skilled with multi-axis mills and common CNC controls.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills.
• Machine complex aerospace-grade components to tight tolerances.
• Interpret blueprints, prints, and GD&T callouts.
• Adjust tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters.
• Perform in-process inspections and final quality checks.
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize setups for efficiency.
• Reduce scrap and rework through precision-focused execution.
• Collaborate with engineering and programming teams on process improvements.
• Maintain safe and clean work area standards.

Qualifications Section - Needed:

• Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience in precision manufacturing or aerospace environments
• Strong experience operating and setting up multi-axis mills
• Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T confidently
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Makino, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls
• Strong inspection background using precision measurement equipment
• Proven ability to machine tight-tolerance components with minimal scrap
• Strong troubleshooting skills for tooling, offsets, setups, and machine issues
• Detail-oriented with strong quality standards
