Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Columbus Forge is seeking a Machinist for a 2nd shift (Mon-Thurs 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM) to manufacture precision aerospace components. You will set up CNC machines, read blueprints, inspect parts, and collaborate to meet production goals in a high-performance environment.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with onsite work and comprehensive benefits. Prior CNC experience with Okuma/Fanuc is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, lathes, and other machining equipment to manufacture precision aerospace components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and shop orders to determine machining requirements and select tooling.
• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify product quality.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues and support preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.
