Job summary

Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge team is hiring a Machining Working Lead for a weekend day shift. You will lead daily machining operations, provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues, and mentor junior machinists while upholding safety, quality, and production targets.

You will set up and operate CNC equipment, read blueprints, and participate in preventive maintenance to ensure consistent, high-quality aerospace components are produced.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the production floor by providing technical guidance, mentoring team members, and helping resolve machining and process-related issues.
• Support daily manufacturing operations by completing production transactions, maintaining work-in-process status, coordinating tools and supplies, and promoting a safe, organized work environment.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC and related machining equipment to produce high-quality aerospace components while meeting safety, quality, and production standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, work instructions, and precision measurements to ensure parts meet engineering specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance, basic equipment repairs, tooling adjustments, deburring, cleaning, and inspection activities to support reliable operations.
