Barton Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily machining operations in a union environment in Montgomery, IL. This hands-on role requires strong CNC experience, scheduling expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and scheduling production on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily machine shop operations on 2nd shift.
• Lead and coach bargaining unit employees under the union contract.
• Schedule work based on priorities, capacity, staffing and deadlines.
• Review orders, blueprints, and specs for efficient planning.
• Monitor performance, quality, scrap and efficiency; implement corrective actions.
• Inspect with QA to resolve quality issues and reduce scrap.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve processes and tooling.
• Request tooling repairs and replacements for fixtures and tools.
• Order production tooling and consumables; manage inventory.
• Coordinate with Materials, Purchasing and Production Planning.
• Participate in continuous improvement for productivity and cost control.
• Train staff on safety, operation, and quality standards.
• Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Assist with budgeting, labor planning and cost control initiatives.
• Work with management to meet production and quality goals.
