Job summary

The ideal candidate began as a CNC machinist or lead and progressed into supervision, with strong knowledge of CNC milling/turning, blueprint reading, tolerances, and effective communication and leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience leading machinists on the shop floor
• Hands-on knowledge of CNC milling and turning operations
• Strong reading of blueprints, tolerances and machining processes
• Excellent communication, organization and leadership capabilities

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise CNC machinists and production employees on 2nd shift
• Coordinate daily production schedules, machine assignments, staffing, and workflow
• Monitor productivity, quality, scrap, downtime, and overall department performance
• Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for machining and production issues
• Work with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production planning to optimize output
• Ensure adherence to machining processes, work instructions, safety and quality requirements
• Coach, train and develop machinists and hold staff accountable for performance
• Assist with resolving tooling, setup, machine, and production issues impacting delivery
• Support continuous-improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality and throughput
