Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Steele, AL is seeking a Lead Control Process Operator for the weekend shift. The role supervises fabrications of structural sheet metal, sets up and operates CNC/PLC equipment, and uses blueprints to verify tolerances.

You will lead a small team on the shop floor and ensure quality while maintaining safety standards. The position requires lifting 50+ lbs, standing for long periods, and a reliable, team‑oriented work ethic.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
Proven ability to lead and develop a small team.
Strong blueprint reading and measurement verification skills.
Experience operating CNC/PLC equipment, including Whitney plasma/punch, Kinetic, oxy-fuel and plasma cutting, CNC machining centers (drills, presses, mills).
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.
High dependability and leadership presence on the floor.
Commitment to safety and quality.
Ability to work collaboratively toward production goals.

Responsibilities

Lead and support a team of Operators.
Set up and operate CNC machinery (cutting, forming, drilling, milling, etc.).
Monitor production quality and verify dimensional requirements using blueprints.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic machine adjustments.
Make decisions related to tolerances, quality, and workflow sequencing.
Ensure adherence to all safety rules and procedures.
Participate in or support safety initiatives and committees.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
