Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Steele, AL is seeking a Lead Control Process Operator for the Weekend Shift. You will lead a small team on the shop floor, set up and operate CNC/ PLC equipment, read blueprints, and ensure dimensional accuracy and safety compliance throughout production.

This role requires strong leadership with hands-on machining skills, the ability to manage workflow, and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a small team.
• Strong blueprint reading and measurement verification skills.
• Experience operating CNC/PLC equipment, including Whitney plasma/punch, Kinetic, oxy-fuel and plasma cutting, CNC machining centers.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Operators.
• Set up and operate CNC machinery (cutting, forming, drilling, milling, etc.).
• Monitor production quality and verify dimensional requirements using blueprints.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic machine adjustments.
• Make decisions related to tolerances, quality, and workflow sequencing.
• Ensure adherence to all safety rules and procedures.
• Participate in or support safety initiatives and committees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
