Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. This role supports a per diem 2nd shift schedule, focused on accurate specimen testing and timely reporting to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities include performing procedures per SOPs, operating instruments, evaluating reagents, and maintaining labs with safety protocols and data integrity in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Education
