Job summary

Viterbo University is seeking a 2nd-Shift Custodian to maintain cleanliness across campus facilities, including residence halls, theatres, and athletic buildings. This full-time, 12-month role is nonexempt and benefits-eligible, with a schedule of 3pm–11:30pm during the academic year and 7am–3pm in the summer.

The position requires a High school diploma or GED and at least 3 months of related experience. Candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to communicate information effectively one-on-one and in small groups, with university staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, theatres, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, gym facilities, locker rooms, and other areas.
• Sweep, scrub, wash, and burnish floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas and upholstered furniture.
• Dust and clean office furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and window sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and remove trash and recyclables; transport to disposal areas.
• Replenish restroom and custodial supplies as needed.
• Move furniture as needed to support cleaning and safety.
• Unlock, secure, and monitor designated doors and buildings.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned by Custodial Services Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
