Job summary

You will collect samples, perform daily analyses, log data, and follow safety practices. A PA certification and valid driver's license are required for this full-time position with a 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee program or its equivalent and certification as a wastewater treatment plant operator for any class and type of plant.
• Possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator for any class and type of plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate switches, valves, pumps, chlorinators, and laboratory equipment to maintain proper water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Collect required samples, perform daily water and wastewater analyses, and record treatment results for compliance.
• Inspect chlorinators, repair dosing pumps, perform preventive maintenance, and complete startup and shutdown procedures.
• Log water and waste production data, track chemical usage, and prepare information for required operational reports.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain clean work areas, and identify and report unsafe conditions.
• Clean work areas, perform adjustments, and secure tools and equipment to maintain an orderly plant environment.

Education

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee program or equivalent

Certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators (any class and type)
