Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems is seeking a Blast Technician / Material Handler for the York, PA (Grantly Plant) on 2nd shift. You will read complex drawings, prepare parts, and operate blast and material handling equipment.

Forklift duties, crane rigging, and 6S/quality documentation are essential to keep our product flow safe and compliant. The role emphasizes PPE compliance, teamwork with cross-functional groups, and maintaining blast centers for US Navy-related systems.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of related experience in manufacturing.
• Blast experience and material handling experience are required.
• Forklift driving experience is required.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Technical knowledge and ability to read prints and routers.

Responsibilities

• Read and work from complex mechanical drawings.
• Prepare parts and products from prints, standard work, and routers.
• Operate blast centers with proper PPE and maintain PPE equipment.
• Maintain blast centers and monitor filtration levels.
• Move and stage WIP material and transport inbound/outbound material.
• Operate forklifts and rig overhead cranes; train as needed.
• Duties include weight measurement, fixture movements, and non-inventory item handling.
