Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems in York, PA is seeking a Blast Technician / Material Handler for the 2nd shift to support its federal systems work. The role focuses on maintaining a clean 6S environment, following complex drawings, preparing parts from prints and routers, and ensuring high-quality documentation.

Responsibilities include operating powered equipment, maintaining forklift certification, and strict adherence to PPE protocols to ensure a safe, compliant production area.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Shipping/Receiving experience.
• 1-5 years forklift driving experience.
• Technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Working from complex mechanical drawings.
• Preparing parts and other products from prints, standard work, and routers.
• Working with cross-functional teams.
• Document quality-controlled tasks.
• Proper handling of finished product.
• Proper preparation of a machined surface finish and M number before blast.
• Maintaining shot blast centers.
• Blast operations and PPE compliance.
• Maintaining PPE equipment, cleaning and sanitizing following use.
• Check levels of the blast filtration system.
• Stage blasted parts on shadowed carts/skids.
• Transporting inbound/outbound work center material.
• Other tasks.
