Job summary

Urban Farmer is seeking a 2nd Shift Bakery Production Supervisor to lead a hands-on team on the production floor, ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and morale across multiple lines. The role reports to the Production Manager and requires 80% time on the shop floor with extended hours as needed.

The schedule may include up to six days per week with a potential 6th day bonus. Responsibilities include safety and quality audits, daily huddles, continuous improvement, staff training, GMP

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a food manufacturing setting required.
• Over 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Experience leading Root Cause Analysis exercises.
• Bilingual - Spanish or Hind is a plus.
• Experience with GMP and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be a Safety role model for the Operations Team and lead with a Safety-First mindset.
• Lead as a Champion of Quality ensuring QA principles are upheld and audits are supported (SQF, USDA, FDA, Organic, or customer).
• Maintain 80% floor presence on the production line to support staff and provide direction.
• Lead daily shift huddles, safety and quality audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and develop staff to promote safe, efficient production and reduce operator error.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, and plant policies.
