Job summary

Urban Farmer is seeking a Floor Lead to support daily production operations in our Illinois facility. You will train team members, assign workstations, and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency across production lines.

This role requires coordinating breaks, monitoring equipment, maintaining records, and collaborating with QA and management to drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include adherence to GMPs, safety protocols, and OSHA regulations, plus maintaining centerline

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical equipment preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a production worker in food manufacturing or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical devices, troubleshooting skills, and ability to perform routine maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Bilingual is a plus; GMPs and company food safety programs training completed.
• Must have good mathematical skills and ability to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies are followed.
• Monitor quality to meet food safety and quality standards; work with QA teams to verify specifications.
• Maintain accurate production records, downtime, and material usage; ensure centerline documents are completed in a timely manner.
• Coordinate breaks and shift coverage; adjust workstation assignments as needed to meet production demands.
• Oversee production areas to ensure equipment and lines operate at peak performance; troubleshoot at operator level.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, safety, and quality.
• Communicate with supervisors and other departments to resolve machinery, material, or safety issues.
• Provide training for new employees and ongoing coaching to improve team performance.
