Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Northwood, Ohio is hiring an Automation Engineer for the 2nd shift to design, program, and maintain robotic assembly systems. You will drive uptime, implement error-proofing, and support new program launches across assembly lines.

The role requires a engineering degree or equivalent experience, strong PLC/HMI skills, and hands-on experience with ABB/Fanuc robots and Allen-Bradley PLCs. Occasional travel and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in engineering science or technology or 5 years related work experience in a technical field.
Advanced trouble-shooting skills and experience in manufacturing environments.
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

Design, maintain, and improve all assembly robotic equipment for safe, efficient operation.
Lead secondary equipment launches and process improvements to increase uptime and reduce cycle time.
Implement error-proofing systems and review new technologies.
Provide training on robotic equipment and assembly machines to department personnel.
Assist process engineers and other departments; support weekend work as needed.
