Job summary

voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation in Shelbyville, KY is seeking an Electrical and Controls Technician to install, program, and maintain automated controls on the factory floor. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, motors, servos, robotics, and related equipment to keep manufacturing moving efficiently while ensuring safety and reliability.

This hands-on role requires an associate degree and practical PLC experience, with opportunities for growth to Technician II and Engineer roles.

Qualifications

Associate degree required in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related field.
Hands-on PLC programming experience is essential.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities.
Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Experience with HMI/SCADA and automation systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, program, and maintain control systems including PLCs, HMIs, motors, servos, robots, and related automation equipment.
Diagnose and repair electrical and control-system issues to minimize downtime.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on control equipment.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
Document system modifications, maintenance work, and SOPs.
Train employees on control-system operation and best practices.
Support development of project specifications and timelines.
Maintain compliance with safety requirements and industry standards.
