Job summary

Roll Forming Corporation is seeking an Electrical and Controls Technician to join our Corporate Engineering team. You will install, maintain, program, and troubleshoot electrical controls and automation systems on the production floor, working with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, motors, servos, and robotics.

You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability while training staff on control-system operation and best practices.

Qualifications

• An associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field.
• Experience as a controls technician or in a similar manufacturing role.
• Hands-on PLC programming experience, particularly with Allen-Bradley or Siemens platforms.
• Experience with robotics, automation, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Working knowledge of EtherNet/IP, Modbus, EtherCAT protocols.
• Knowledge of motor-control drives and motion systems (PowerFlex, Kinetix, Indramat).
• Reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, program, and maintain control systems (PLCs, HMIs, motors, servos, robots).
• Diagnose and repair electrical and control-system issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on control equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Document system modifications and SOPs; train employees on control-system operation.
• Support project specifications and timelines; ensure safety compliance.
