Job summary
Roll Forming Corporation is seeking an Electrical and Controls Technician to join our Corporate Engineering team. You will install, maintain, program, and troubleshoot electrical controls and automation systems on the production floor, working with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, motors, servos, and robotics.
You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability while training staff on control-system operation and best practices.
Qualifications
- An associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field.
- Experience as a controls technician or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Hands-on PLC programming experience, particularly with Allen-Bradley or Siemens platforms.
- Experience with robotics, automation, HMI, and SCADA systems.
- Working knowledge of EtherNet/IP, Modbus, EtherCAT protocols.
- Knowledge of motor-control drives and motion systems (PowerFlex, Kinetix, Indramat).
- Reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair electrical and control-system issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on control equipment.

Roll Forming Corporation is seeking a hands-on Electrical and Controls Technician to join our Corporate Engineering team. In this role, you will install, maintain, program, and troubleshoot electrical controls and automation systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. You will work directly on the production floor with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, motors, servos, robotics, and related technologies while partnering with engineering, maintenance, and production teams.
- Install, configure, program, and maintain control systems, including PLCs, HMI software, motors, servos, robots, and related automation equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and control-system issues to minimize production downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on control equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to implement solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
- Document system modifications, maintenance work, and standard operating procedures.
- Train employees on control-system operation and best practices.
- Support the development of project specifications and timelines.
- Maintain compliance with applicable safety requirements and industry standards.

- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new software tools.
Knowledge of Beckhoff PLCs, Indramat systems, Motoman robotics, or Ignition MES software is a strong plus.
