Job summary

Accelera in North Vernon, IN is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to keep our automated manufacturing systems running at peak performance. You will diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults, troubleshoot PLC-driven equipment, and contribute to ongoing optimization.

This 2nd shift role requires an Associate degree or related certification and at least three years of hands-on experience with industrial automation.

Qualifications

Associate degree or specialized certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable.
At least three years of hands-on experience with industrial automation and control systems in a production setting.
Deep understanding of industrial electrical components such as VFDs, sensors, PLCs, and motor control hardware.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical control circuits and automated machinery.
Experience with major PLC brands (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron).
Working knowledge of industrial networks and systems like vision, servo, and robotics.

Responsibilities

Identify and resolve PLC-driven production issues to ensure seamless operations.
Maintain high equipment availability by diagnosing and fixing electrical and instrumentation faults.
Modify and debug HMIs, PLCs, and motor control devices.
Execute scheduled maintenance to proactively prevent failures.
Use manuals and schematics to guide repair activities.
Set up and verify electrical panels and instrumentation.
Support rollout of new machinery and automation upgrades.
Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring problems.
