Job summary

Wabtec in Fort Worth is seeking assemblers to build locomotive/mining components. Tasks include wiring harness installation, piping connections, and basic welding. You’ll use drill presses, band saws, lathes and other tools while helping improve manufacturing processes and supporting a culture of cooperation.

Minimum 1 year with electrical/pneumatic hand tools, ability to read blueprints, and 18+ with a high school diploma or GED. Shift schedule 4-on-4, consistent overtime possible, PPE required.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, schematics and manufacturing instructions to complete assembly tasks.
• Minimum 1 year of experience using electrical and/or pneumatic hand tools.
• Must be 18 years or older; high school diploma or GED.
• Willing to wear PPE (glasses, gloves, ear protection, etc.).
• Willing to work in a tobacco-free environment and pass drug tests/background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-assemblies and finished components.
• Install wiring harnesses and related electronic components.
• Connect piping and plumbing components.
• Set up and complete simple welding operations.
• Test assemblies for leaks and electrical issues; perform repairs as needed.
• Operate standard machine tools and hand tools.
• Apply paint finishes, masking and touch-ups.
• Move materials with forklifts and tuggers.
• Support process improvements and tooling design.
