Job summary

Wabtec in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble products using hand and power tools, follow detailed work instructions, and help keep production running smoothly.

You will inspect completed assemblies, verify measurements, and maintain organized work areas while adhering to safety standards. This role offers variety, hands-on craftsmanship, and opportunities to grow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Able to read blueprints, schematics and manufacturing instructions.
  • Willing to work overtime, including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • The sub-assembly of components and full assembly of the finished product.
  • Install and connect wiring harnesses and related components.
  • Set up and complete simple welding operations.
  • Test assemblies for leaks, electrical issues, and other tests; perform repairs.
  • Operate standard machine tools and hand/pneumatic tools.
  • Paint applications including sanding, masking, finishing, and touch-up.
  • Transport materials using cranes, forklifts, and tuggers.

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Pay Rate: $27.61 per hour
Schedules:

  • 1st Shift | 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Monday – Thursday
  • 2nd Shift | 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM | Monday – Thursday
  • Weekend Shift | 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Friday – Sunday

Job Duties
  • The sub-assembly of components and full assembly of the finished.
  • The installation and/or connection of wiring harnesses and associatedElectronic componentsandpiping and associated plumbing components.
  • The setup and completion of various simple welding operations.
  • Testing of assembly components for oil and/or air leaks, simple electrical malfunctions, and various other simple tests. Repairs are to be made when failures are detected.
  • The use of standard machine tools including but not limited to drill press, band saw, lathe, press brakes, laser, pipe bender, spot welder, etc., and a variety of hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
  • Paint applicationswill include but are not limited to dry sanding, masking, unmasking, finish paint, stenciling, sealing, and touch-up.
  • Transporting materials utilizing radio-controlled cranes, forklifts, and tuggers.
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience using electrical and/or pneumatic hand tools.
  • Able to read blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing instructions sufficiently to complete the assigned assembly tasks.
  • Willingness to work overtime (including weekends).
Physical Capabilities
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working from heights of 20 feet.
  • Ability to remain active throughout each shift and lift 40 pounds.

A Assembler supports production by assembling mechanical, electrical, or manufactured components into completed products. This role combines technical ability with craftsmanship, organization, and attention to detail.

The Assembler works with assembly drawings, production equipment, and quality standards while maintaining accurate, consistent work throughout the manufacturing process. Strong mechanical aptitude supports long-term success.
