Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a skilled Welder to support locomotive/mining component fabrication. You will perform diverse welding tasks, assist with assembly, and collaborate to improve processes. Training may be provided for specific duties.

Requirements include completing a welding program or equivalent experience, willingness to pass background/drug tests, and the ability to work with PPE in a tobacco-free environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a welding program with 1 year welding experience OR 3 years of industrial/construction welding experience.
• Must be 18 years or older and have a high-school diploma or GED.
• Must be willing to wear PPE (respirator, jackets, gloves, hoods, ear protection) and pass drug/background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding tasks and assembly work as required.
• Read simple to complex blueprints and manufacturing instructions to complete tasks.
• Operate basic machine tools and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Ensure welds and fabrications pass quality checks and leaks/pressure tests.
