Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Duncan, South Carolina seeks an assembly worker to join their team. Responsibilities
  • Assemble and disassemble assembly parts, using tools and equipment required for operations in an industrial setting.
  • Assist in daily 5S and cleaning procedures.
  • Assist others in obtaining solutions to quality and production issues.
  • Other duties as may be required or assigned.
  • Assemble, test and inspect according to engineering drawings and test codes.
  • Work with electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair and reassemble equipment that does not pass the test.
  • Maintain assembly and test equipment as required.
  • Move material to and from the workstation by hand, cart and crane as required.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and maintain good housekeeping.
Qualifications
  • Able to work 1st shift hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 1+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment needed to perform the assembly operations in an industrial setting.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly rate: $19.00+ per hour.
  • Benefits begin on day 1, including medical/dental/vision and low‑rate supplemental options.

Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; use hands to finger, handle or operate controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Environment
  • Indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to production activities including machinery, assembly operations, overhead crane usage and forklift traffic.
  • Use of personal protective equipment required.
Mental Demands
  • Use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, documents.
  • Analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning.
  • Observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; interact with employees, customers and vendors.
