Dover Food Retail is seeking an Assembler II for the 2nd shift at Colonial Heights, VA. You will pull and stock components, manage WIP, and communicate shortages to the production coordinator while using KANBAN to maintain flow.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of plant layout, warehouse mapping, equipment applications, material requirements and inventory control practices.
• Competency with computers (AS400 and Windows) and various printers.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Physically pulls product required on work orders.
• Picks product from stock/issues components to WIP (Work in Progress).
• Provides advance information to production coordinator regarding shortages.
• Utilizes KANBAN system to identify outages.
• Strives to reduce kitting error and quality issues.
• Reports substitutions and BOM corrections to production coordinator.
• Complies with quality assurance procedures to ensure best quality output.
• Strives to improve departmental efficiencies and reduce cost through continuous improvement.
• Adheres to company policies and safety standards.
