Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Klingerstown, PA seeks an Area Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations with up to 80 employees across shifts. You will ensure safety, food safety, and quality while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence in a high-volume plant.

You will apply Lean methods (PDCA, A3, DMAIC) and RedZone execution, coach teams, and manage labor to meet production goals. Strong cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.
• Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising and leading teams of 25+ employees.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with Lean tools, RedZone execution, and structured problem-solving (SRMP, RCA, PDCA/CAPD).
• Experience working across multiple shifts in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and coordinate manufacturing activities across multiple shifts, managing up to 80 employees.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety policies and a safe workplace.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Quality, GMP, and sanitation requirements.
• Lead RedZone activities, KPI review, issue escalation, and action follow-ups.
• Develop and sustain standard work to reduce variability across shifts.
• Schedule and deploy labor and resources to meet production goals.
• Respond to unplanned interruptions and provide guidance to restore operations.
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and development for direct reports.
• Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, OEE, shrink, and labor efficiency.
• Partner with Maintenance, Quality/FSQ, Safety, Engineering to drive improvements.
