Job summary

GE Aerospace in Loves Park, IL is seeking a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily production operations for advanced jet engines and components. You will manage a team of about 20 hourly employees across machining, assembly, and lab operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 1 year of professional experience OR associate’s degree with minimum 3 years of professional experience OR high school diploma with minimum 5 years of professional experience.
• Desireable: leadership experience in manufacturing; ability to make independent decisions; experience leading teams in machining, assembly, or industrial production; strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, and production targets
• Supervise and develop a team of ~20 hourly employees across machining, assembly, and lab operations
• Foster safety culture, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Monitor production flow and performance; partner with planning to execute schedules
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and drive corrective actions
• Train employees on required skills and standard work
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
• Troubleshoot production issues with maintenance and support teams
• Communicate results, gaps, and recovery plans to leadership
