Job summary

Carnival Cruise Line in the United States seeks a qualified 2nd Officer to join our Deck team aboard our vessels. You will support bridge operations, oversee navigation, and uphold safety and regulatory compliance during voyages.

The role requires an IMO II/2 CH.MATE certificate, STCW credentials, and a maritime academy background. You will work at sea, interact with guests, and contribute to a secure, enjoyable voyage experience.

Qualifications

• IMO Certificate, Regulation II/2 (CH.MATE) is required.
• Valid STCW certificates for the position.
• Mandatory high school or maritime academy education.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Bridge Watch Keeper as required by BRMM procedures.
• Monitor voyage plan execution and correct nautical charts as needed.
• Maintain and test bridge instruments including GMDSS and communications gear.
• Ensure compliance with Safety & Environmental policies on board.
• Oversee stability calculations and ballast management.
• Collaborate with officers to keep ship certificates up to date.
