Job summary

Transocean is seeking a 2nd Mate to assist the Chief Mate in controlling marine operations on the offshore rig, with emphasis on safety of personnel, equipment maintenance, and environmental protection.

The role includes supervising a deck/marine team, ensuring vessel stability, and adhering to company policies and emergency procedures. Preference for candidates with advanced maritime qualifications and strong leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Must hold Valid Unlimited 2nd Mate Licenses (Home country and Flag state).
• Knowledge of all technical calculations for safe marine operations.
• Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise deck crew and marine personnel on offshore rig operations.
• Monitor rig stability and manage ballast, loading, and transfers.
• Maintain charts, publications, and logbooks; support maintenance programs.
• Participate in safety drills and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
