Job summary

Bonita National Golf and Country Club in Bonita Springs, FL is seeking a 2nd Assistant Superintendent to join our hospitality-driven team. The candidate will support the superintendent in maintaining greens, tees, fairways, and cart paths, schedule work, supervise staff, and oversee irrigation, pumping systems, and pesticide applications to meet the highest standards.

Strong knowledge of turf management, plant care, and equipment operation is required. Weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance of golf course tees, greens and fairways.
• Knowledge of seeding, planting, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs and trees.
• Knowledge of fertilizers, soil conditioners, herbicides and pest control methods and materials.
• Knowledge of drainage and irrigation systems, including wells, pumps and automatic controls.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and supervising maintenance of greens, tees, fairways and cart paths.
• Schedules work.
• Supervises employees.
• Supervises repair of motorized and other equipment.
• Instructs operators on mowing operations.
• Oversees pesticide applications and calibrates application equipment.
• Oversees pumps operation and maintenance.
• Oversees irrigation and drainage system maintenance.
• May serve in superintendent's capacity during absence.
