Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three years custodial experience, including at least one year in a lead/supervisory role.
• Knowledge of custodial procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ability to train staff effectively in cleaning techniques and equipment use.
• Computer literacy including Word and Excel; ability to learn new systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct group training sessions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and University partners.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise second- and third-shift custodial employees and student workers, including daily scheduling and performance documentation.
• Provide input on employee evaluations and corrective action.
• Train staff on cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
• Inspect work and direct follow-up cleaning to meet standards.
• Maintain shift attendance, performance, and training records.
• Monitor safety procedures and chemical handling; report concerns.
• Report facility hazards as needed.
• Coordinate custodial support for room setups and events.
