Job summary

JewishColumbus is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator to monitor and respond to security events across Columbus, OH. The role emphasizes real-time surveillance, incident triage, and coordination with security teams to protect leaders, staff, congregants, and assets.

The successful candidate will monitor CCTV (Verkada), access control, alarms, and communication systems; document actions; and follow playbooks during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; higher education preferred.
• 2–5 years in security operations or related field.
• Experience with real-time monitoring, incident response or emergency comms.
• Familiarity with CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Strong written and verbal incident documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems in real time to maintain situational awareness.
• Receive, triage alerts and determine response actions per protocols.
• Dispatch personnel and agencies via phone, radio or software.
• Escalate incidents to SOC Lead per severity and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate incident records in management systems.
• Collaborate with partner security and organizational stakeholders.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders during operations.
• Operate and troubleshoot security systems including CCTV and access control.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in training drills.
• Support 24/7 operations including nights, weekends, and holidays.
