Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) in Birmingham, Alabama seeks an experienced Technical Support Specialist 2 for a three-year contract. The role provides frontline diagnostics and support for Windows/AIX/UNIX environments and requires shift work in a 24x7 operation.

You will monitor SCADA and related systems, coordinate repairs with EMS and other teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain thorough case documentation.

Qualifications

• Formal education in Computer Science or related IT field or equivalent experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with coordinators and management in a team setting.
• Ability to meet CIP, Sarbanes-Oxley and other federal compliance requirements.
• Working knowledge of Windows, AIX/UNIX, and distributed networks.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day monitoring of the primary SCADA and ancillary systems for health and availability.
• Frontline problem resolution and coordination of repairs with EMS personnel.
• Notify key customers for system outages and events that may impact critical systems.
• Provide input to Team Lead on process improvement and customer feedback.
• Track and document cases to completion with EMS, following access policies.
• Monitor and support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery systems.
