Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking an experienced Network & Security Operations Manager to lead the combined NOC and Tier 1 SOC, ensuring reliability, security, and performance of enterprise environments. You will guide 24/7 operations, incident response, and threat detection workflows while shaping automation and process improvements.

Responsibilities include hiring and developing 24/7 teams, managing budgets and tooling, and supporting business growth through customer engagements and sales

Qualifications

• 5+ years in network operations or cybersecurity operations.
• 2+ years leading a NOC, SOC, or 24/7 team.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, monitoring tools, and incident management processes.
• Direct experience with SOC operations, including security event triage.
• Demonstrated ability to manage departmental budgets and optimize costs.
• Hands-on automation using scripting or orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for NOC and Tier 1 SOC teams, including monitoring, alert triage, remediation coordination, and security event handling.
• Hire, coach, and develop NOC and SOC analysts, fostering security and collaboration.
• Ensure Tier 1 SOC follows NIST, CIS controls, and MITRE ATT&CK-based detection workflows.
• Identify tasks suitable for automation and collaborate to implement solutions.
• Own and oversee the NOC/SOC budget, tooling, and vendor relationships.
• Support growth of the NOC/SOC practice through proposals, staffing, and pricing inputs.
• Engage with customers to demonstrate capabilities and support business development goals.
