Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to manage and optimize our central hub network and provide secure connectivity to remote sites via VPN. The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco gear, security policies, and network monitoring tools.

You will contribute to high-availability infrastructure, support DoD mission operations, and collaborate with distributed teams in a fast-paced environment. A TS/SCI clearance and travel readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT/related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance or equivalent.
• 10+ years of network engineering experience.
• Proven expertise with DMVPN and GRE tunnels.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain network security policies for data integrity.
• Ensure high availability and performance of central service node network.
• Design, configure, and manage secure VPN connections to remote sites.
• Maintain and optimize routers, firewalls, switches, and encryption devices.
• Administer Cisco Call Manager (VoIP), SolarWinds, and NPS configurations.
• Diagnose and resolve network issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist in network capacity planning for scalable infrastructure.
• Maintain detailed network diagrams and troubleshooting docs.
• Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders on network initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
• Provide on-call support for critical network issues.
