Job summary

Valero in San Antonio is seeking a Network Operator to monitor 24/7 alarms, analyze incidents, orchestrate dispatch, and support level 1–2 I/S services across all business units. This on-site role may include night/weekend shifts and quarterly rotation.

You will help reduce toil by automating repeatable tasks, documenting processes, and collaborating with engineering and operations to improve service delivery while following ITIL practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in a Technology or Network Operations Center in a large enterprise environment.
• 2 years of experience with first level administration and troubleshooting of Windows Servers, virtual machines, and Telecom Circuits.
• Able and willing to work on-site at Valero San Antonio location.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to alarms from Valero I/S infrastructure and applications.
• Open and facilitate support calls with third party providers.
• Create, monitor, and troubleshoot scheduled jobs.
• Resolve incidents independently and assist with complex incident troubleshooting and resolution.
• Execute well-documented operational tasks transitioned from Level 2/3 teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify and automate repetitive tasks.
• Maintain and improve runbooks and knowledge base documentation.
• Contribute to Valero’s automation initiatives by supporting scripting, orchestration, and process improvement efforts.
• Follow ITIL based service management processes (Change, Incident, Request).
