Job summary

The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking a Utilities Station Operator I to support operation and maintenance of campus utility systems. The role ensures continuous service, responds to emergencies, and maintains building automation controls during night hours.

Responsibilities include monitoring safety alarms, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with energy management and special events. On-campus work with potential exposure to hazardous conditions is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Vocational Training or Apprenticeship in a related field.
• One (1) year of related work experience.
• Current valid driver's license.
• This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that uninterrupted utility services are rendered and timely emergency responses.
• Operates and maintain systems and equipment that provide utilities and steam control environmental conditions.
• Monitors and responds to life safety system alarms, emergency conditions, security alarms and related requirement to include fire alarms, emergency power and others.
• Monitors and performs minor utility adjustments through building automation systems.
• Performs building and system maintenance duties such as filter replacement, fume hood operation and dormitory maintenance.
• Responds to all campus emergencies, such as electrical outages, gas leaks, water main/line breaks, and others.
• Performs duties related to energy management, conservation and related such as lighting controls and coordination with TEP.
• Assists with special events and contractors support duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
