Job summary

Protective Life Corporation seeks an IT Operations Support professional in Birmingham, AL to monitor, maintain, and optimize mainframe, AS400, servers, networks, and environmental systems. You will handle on‑call rotations, escalation, and communications for incidents and outages, ensuring SLAs are met while supporting a complex data center environment.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, familiarity with mainframe tools, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of technical school training or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of professional, technical, and customer support experience in a corporate environment.
• Prior ServiceNow, Mainframe and/or Control‑M experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mainframe and distributed system availability and production scheduling.
• Monitor servers, applications, networks, and environmental systems using standard tools.
• Execute manual cycles and jobs to meet SLAs and support business operations.
• Provide incident/operations coordination and on-call support as needed.
• Document and escalate abnormalities; participate in weekly change management meetings.
• Assist in disaster recovery activities and continuous process improvement.
