Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Watch Engineer to oversee and maintain critical utility systems across multiple facilities in New York and New Jersey. You will lead operations to ensure safe, efficient performance of heating, cooling, and life-safety systems.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and coordinating with teams to manage 24/7 operations, shifts, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Three years of full-time paid work experience in HVAC/Utility Systems handling high pressure boilers, steam, and refrigeration equipment.
• EPA Refrigerant Technician's Certificate (RTC).
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heating and cooling systems for Port Authority facilities.
• Install, maintain, repair, and diagnose issues involving high/low-pressure heating and HVAC systems.
• Install, maintain, repair, and diagnose issues involving fire protection life safety systems.
• Various locations, rotating shifts and need to work 24/7, holidays, weekends, and potential of overtime.
