Job summary

The Building People, LLC, seeks a Watch Engineer for full-time support of a federal agency in Reston, VA. This role monitors critical building systems at the Heating and Refrigeration Plant, maintaining watch/tour requirements and responding to emergencies during a 24/7 shift

Requirements include 5 years of federal O&M experience, a valid DC 1st Class Operator's license, and expertise with high-pressure steam and central chillers. Background checks and possible credentialing are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of federal facility Operations and Maintenance experience
• Strong communication to interface with technicians
• DC 1st Class Operator's license and experience with 100 psi steam and central chiller plants

Responsibilities

• Monitor building systems during watch shift within a 24/7 schedule
• Record operating data every two hours in logs
• Adjust central control panel based on operating conditions
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with other technicians
