Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor to lead the 24/7 Dispatch System Operations Center (SOC) staff. The role oversees switching, tagging, clearances, and outage response across the electric distribution system, with training in Dorchester, Southborough, and New Bedford.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field plus 5 years in Dispatch/TD/GS or related
• Associate degree plus 7 years in Dispatch/TD/GS or related
• 9+ years in Dispatch/TD/GS or related

Responsibilities

• Monitors, operates and maintains electronic dispatch system including SCADA.
• Plans, writes, checks, approves, directs, issues clearances for switching, grounding and tagging instructions for the distribution system.
• Receives OMS outage and non-outage events and trouble calls, analyzes problems, and initiates corrective action including dispatch of personnel.
• Monitors load and voltages on circuits and substation equipment during switching and peak periods.
• Supports emergency disaster plan and assists at other regional centers during emergency storm restoration.
• Monitors SCADA, substation, system alarms.
• Supervises SOC switching requirements between system dispatchers and field personnel.
• Prepares, disseminates, and maintains records/reports in support of system operations.
• Coordinates with Eastern MA Black Start and emergency load shedding.
• Supports Manager/Senior Supervisor to ensure workload coverage and proper notification.
