Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to provide frontline support to individuals experiencing homelessness. This full-time role involves monitoring residents, applying trauma-informed approaches, and responding to crises with calm, professional conduct.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, strong communication, and willingness to obtain necessary certifications. Training, overtime, and opportunities for growth are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills are needed.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
• Related duties as assigned.
