Centerstone in Illinois is seeking a Crisis Counselor to deliver emergency crisis intervention, assessments, and stabilization in the community, by phone or video. The role involves linking clients to ongoing services and completing required documentation under supervision.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a related field, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license. It includes participation in cross-functional teams, safety planning, and 24/7 crisis coverage within service areas.

Qualifications

• Requires a Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, psychiatric nursing or other related human services field.
• Requires an in-depth knowledge of clinical theory and practice and symptomology of psychiatric illness.
• Must successfully complete all required background screenings.
• Requires utilizing electronic health records and/or other automated/electronic documentation systems and to have computer and keyboarding experience.
• Requires CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, and safe driving history.

Responsabilités

• Provide crisis assessments, stabilization, and intervention in community settings, by telephone, and video to recipients in crisis and facilitating linkage to ongoing services.
• Complete required documentation and comply with contracts, grants, standards, regulations, and laws.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and quality assurance functions.
• Assist service recipient in safety and discharge planning and provide follow up services as assigned.
• Provide crisis transportation through EMS or other professional transport services when needed.
• Provide emergency mental health consultations with physicians, law enforcement, school officials, and other agency representatives.
• Support mentoring and training of new staff and interns.
