Job summary

Peace River Center is seeking a Crisis Counselor to provide 24/7 mental health crisis services, assessments, and short-term crisis counseling to individuals in distress. You will handle crisis line calls, perform rapid assessments, and coordinate transfers with insurers and referral partners.

The role requires a Master's degree in Human Services and at least one year of relevant experience, plus required trainings and strict documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Human Services or related area.
• Minimum of one year of experience in mental health or related field.
• Complete FA 65-E5 training; abuse registry and law enforcement check; 20 hours professional enhancement training annually; PRC trainings; attend PRC clinical/administrative functions.

Responsibilities

• Answer crisis line telephones.
• Conduct crisis assessments/interventions including co-occurring issues.
• Facilitate shift briefings to next shift.
• Complete clinical documentation and related paperwork timely.
• Coordinate client transfer process with insurers and referring organizations.
• Maintain crisis line logs and outcome documentation.
• Provide on-call supervision and crisis services as required.
• Attend scheduled hours, meetings, and center functions.
• Assist with community presentations as needed.
