Job summary

Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, NE is seeking a Crisis Counselor to provide life-saving support via phone, text, or chat. Starting pay is $17.50–$18.50 per hour with shift differential where applicable; full-time or part-time roles are available and the hotline operates 24/7, including weekends.

You will respond to calls, texts, chats, or emails from people in crisis, deliver short-term counseling, de-escalation, and problem-solving, and provide referrals while maintaining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred for some programs.
• At least 21 years old.
• Computer literate and able to take notes while talking to callers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls, texts, chats, or emails from people in crisis.
• Provide short-term counseling, de-escalation, and problem-solving support.
• Offer referrals and resources when necessary.
• Accurately document interactions and maintain confidentiality.
