Job description

A part-time, fixed-term Healthcare Support Worker vacancy has arisen within the Dalrymple Ward at Galloway Community Hospital, Stranraer.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and driven individual to join Dalrymple Ward, which is a 26-bedded ward with 24 beds for rehabilitation and 2 beds for palliative care patients.

The Healthcare Support Worker will complement our existing, highly motivated nursing team. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal), the ability to work as part of a team, and proficiency in written and computer skills are essential. The role involves providing high-quality, person-centered care to inpatients with various healthcare needs.

An SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or previous experience as a healthcare assistant would be advantageous.

The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly to cover shift patterns across a 24-hour period. An interest in older adult nursing and the ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment are important.
