Job summary

NWU in Minneapolis is seeking a motivated college student for a hands-on internship in our office. You will shadow Project Managers, Site Superintendents, Estimators, and the Safety team, attending meetings, learning methods, and gaining exposure to Procore and project documentation.

Job description

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Shadow Project Managers by attending meetings, bidding, scheduling, and learning construction methods, terminology, planning, and specifications using Procore and other software
• Shadow Site Superintendents by assisting with construction documentation, preparing and distributing meeting minutes, daily logs, jobsite photos, schedules, and performing jobsite inspections and punch list walk-throughs
• Shadow Estimators by working with the Preconstruction and Estimating team, attending meetings, estimating, pricing, and understanding estimating software and processes
• Shadow Safety team to understand safety principles with emphasis on OSHA standards and perform job site safety inspections
• Participate in other meetings and professional development opportunities as appropriate

About You

• Demonstrated computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate of $25

Physical and Environmental Demands

The role requires frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands to handle objects or tools. Occasional standing and walking are required. Rarely lifting or moving up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work is performed in an office environment with a usually moderate noise level.
