Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR member, is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Intern to join the Denton, Texas team. The role focuses on analytics, process improvement, and data-driven quality enhancements in a manufacturing setting.

You will support continuous improvement projects, develop dashboards, and assist in data collection across the plant while gaining real-world experience in quality engineering and operations.

Qualifications

• Requires enrollment in an Engineering or Business/Operations program and completion of sophomore year.

Responsibilities

• Assist in projects to improve product quality and overall plant performance.
• Develop Tableau dashboards for plant use and data analytics.
• Create and implement Data Inspect for buyoff locations across the plant.
• Study and analyze assembly processes; document process improvements.
• Assist continuous improvement efforts including quality, data collection, root-cause analysis and Six Sigma projects.

Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has an opening for a Manufacturing Quality Intern to add to our Quality team in Denton, Texas.

Job Responsibilities

This position will assist in implementing projects to improve overall product quality performance. The job also includes assistance in Continuous Improvement Efforts focusing on, Departmental Quality Supplier Improvement Projects, Ergonomic Improvement Projects, Line Balance Optimization and Improvements in Overall Departmental Efficiency and Defect Reduction and Warranty Projects.

• Data analytics creating tableau dashboards for plant use.
• Create and implement Data Inspect for all buyoff locations around the plant
• Study, and analyze plant assembly processes
• Development and document plant assembly processes
• Flexibility to address special projects as they arise
• Assist in continuous improvement efforts focusing on:
  • Quality Improvement Projects
  • Data Collection Efforts
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Development of Error Proofing Methods
  • Six Sigma Projects

Required Qualifications

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in an Engineering Program or Business/Operations Management Program and have completed their sophomore year of College.

Preferred Qualifications

The qualifications that are important to be successful in this position are as follows:

• Excellent technical, verbal, written and presentations skills.
• Proven problem-solving skills are required.
• Ability to work in a self-directed environment is preferred.
• Must be flexible to work portions of day and evening shift.
• Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• MS office, specifically Excel and Power Point
• A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferable.
• Experience or Classroom Training in Statistics, Quality Control, PFEMAs and Operations Management preferred.
• Work will be performed in a Manufacturing Environment with extended exposure to noise, dust, paint fumes etc.
• Work may also be performed at offsite locations.
