Job summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, seeks a Materials Handling Intern for its Denton, Texas operation. You will work on dock utilization, scheduling, and load optimization to improve dock efficiency and throughput.

You will be enrolled in a Logistics or related program and must have completed your sophomore year. Strong MS Office skills, communication, multitasking, professionalism, and a sense of urgency are highly valued.

• The candidate is currently enrolled in a Logistics, Business, or related program and has completed their sophomore year.
• Preferred strong MS Office skills, verbal and written communication, multitasking, professionalism, analytics, and urgency.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the use of the docks today.
• Consider the best use of docks for the plant expansion.
• Develop a proposal to schedule loads and spread deliveries for better dock efficiencies.
• Look for opportunities to consolidate or reduce shipment frequency to fill trailers.
• Review data and assist the team with project implementations.

Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has an opening for a Materials Handling Intern to add to our Materials team in Denton, Texas.

Job Responsibilities

This position will be working on various projects and reports to include but not limitedto:

• Evaluate the Use of the Docks today
• Consider the best use of Docks for the Plant Expansion
• Develop a proposal to schedule loads and spread deliveries for better dock efficiencies
• Look for opportunities to consolidate or reduce the frequency of shipments to fill out trailers
• DPU Reduction
• Review Data
• Plan for Every Part - Assist the Team with Developing Plans for Project Implementations

Required Qualifications

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in a Logistics, Business, or related Program and have completed their sophomore year of college.
