Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) invites interested civil engineering students to join our team as a Civil Engineering Intern in Effingham, IL.

You will assist with surveying and engineering tasks across our Site, Transportation, Structures, and Water Resources projects under supervision. The internship targets full- or part-time students pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, with knowledge of surveying, drafting, and fundamentals, plus a willingness to learn and collaborate in a team.

Qualifications

• Must be a full or part time student pursuing a Civil Engineering degree.
• Knowledge of Civil Engineering fundamentals, surveying, drafting, and design/construction practices.
• Ability to assist in the field or on job sites.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment.
• Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new concepts.

Job description

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm offering civil site, structural, land surveying, and GIS services. Since its founding in 1996, our team has grown to over 150 team members with six locations. We operate in three states serving our six service lines - Infrastructure + Analytics, Site, Structures, Survey, Transportation, and Water Resources. We have office locations in Missouri St. Louis and Jefferson City, Illinois Collinsville and Effingham and Kentucky Louisville and Prestonsburg.

We are looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to support our CDI mission in Building Stronger Communities through one of our engineering services of Site, Transportation, Structures and Water Resources. This internship would support our service lines by contributing to projects and engaging with the team and supporting our mission of developing a better tomorrow.

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Must be a full or part time student seeking a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

• Ability to assist in the field or on job sites.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation.
• Ability to provide 30 to 40 hours per week.

The anticipated base hourly range for this position is $22-24/hr. Compensation will vary based upon relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
