Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a Civil Engineer to support our mission by leading site development design, coordinating with clients and project teams, and delivering civil site, utilities, and grading improvements.

This role can be based at any CDI location; travel up to 10% is expected. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Open Roads Designer is preferred. EI and PE are valued; base salary ranges from $65,000 to $120,000 per year plus benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year college or university.
  • EI (Engineer-In-Training), or capable of achieving within 6 months.
  • PE preferred.
  • 3-10 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the technical aspects of civil site projects.
  • Serve as the project point of contact with clients, team consultants, and contractors on scope, budgets and schedules.
  • Develop civil site, utility and grading improvements.
  • Lead design work in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Model hydraulics, road alignments, drainage and storm-water facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating the technical aspects of civil site projects assigned.
  • Responsible for being the project point of contact with clients, project team consultants, contractors, on work scope, budgets and schedules.
  • Explore our services of water resources, transportation, structural, site, survey and infrastructure & analytics.
  • Work on civil site development projects by leading the design of site, utility and grading improvements.
  • Work in AutoCAD or MicroStation to design and draft project improvements.
  • Model/design aspects of civil engineering projects: pavement, sanitary and storm hydraulics (flow and pipe size), storm hydrology (rainfall volume, water quality volume, detention modeling/routing), and design of storm-water management facilities (bioretention, pervious pavements, vegetated swales). Roadway vertical and horizontal alignments. Striping, signing, signal design, and other aspects of roadway design.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, and Microstation and/or Open Roads Designer.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering related technical design associated with water resources, transportation, structural or site development.
  • Good communication skills. Experience with building and sustaining strong client relationships.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year college or university.

This role can be based out of any of the CDI locations. The travel expected is up to 10%.
